Wildwood Workshop Weekend

Kendal

Workshops on Uilleann pipes, small pipes, low whistle, penny whistle, banjo, fiddle and guitar.

The first weekend was held on the weekend 11th, 12th and 13th August 2006 with a big session on the friday night and workshops on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday night the tutors put on a concert in Kendal and after the concert we all went back to the barn or to the campfire outside for informal sessions. The weekend was a great success and enjoyed by all with some excellent catering by 'Food of Love' under difficult conditions.

The Tutors were Becky Taylor, Kirk McElhinney, Paul Harrison and Bill Lloyd.

My Comments

A great weekend in an idylic spot, Bill Lloyd who organised the weekend at his own farm has to take the credit for the weekend, creating a very friendly atmosphere and pulling together and excellent team of tutors and catering staff.

The price of the weekend was £35 for the workshops, camping and the food, an excellent bargain. The workshop tutors were sponsored by 'Folkus'.

Hopefully this weekend will be repeated next year and become a must on most peoples calendars.

Were just waiting for a date for 2007.
