Imagine going into a card shop and asking for a personalised card which is not only personalised on the inside but also on the cover as well, they may be able to write a personalised greeting on the inside but you would then have to choose a pre-designed cover. In retail, a small company has little chance against the large card shops unless they offer a service not available within the large shops, a personalised service where the customer can choose both the outside and the inside of the greeting card and even provide a design, picture or pose for a picture to be taken for the front cover, this is the concept of the Glycard Personalised Greeting Card Programme, instant personalisation. “This is at last, a business where the small business can not only compete with the giants in business, but offer a personal service which the giants can not match”.

Our own invention Glycard

When developing this programme we were well aware of the restrictions that were placed on making greeting cards, that of the so called card available (160grm) which would go through a printer, it would go through the printer provided you did'nt produce to many as this would break the paper transport system, you can not buy quality card and it was too floppy and gave an amateur feel to the end product. What we needed was a system where we could print onto any quality paper the front and the back of the card and then glue the two together quickly, without any mess. The facility was not available so we invented the Glycard system. Glycard is simply a laminating system where the paper is on the outside and sandwiched inbetween is a non sticky glue sheet which adheres to the outside sheets using slight heat , this allows for the production of the two faces of Greeting Cards, Invitations, Business Cards on top quality paper. A Laminator or Domestic iron can be used to cure the card. For more details on the Glycard system see the bottom of the page.

What equipment is necessary.

A Pentium computer, colour printer, Scanner (and or Digital Camera, Video Camera) and a hot laminator, quality paper and Glycard laminating sheets.

Precincts, Shops, Indoor Markets, Mail Order, Internet, Inside large shops, supplying to local shops, Greeting Cards for Business, Clubs, Holiday Camps, Annual Shows, Promotions, Craft fairs, Tourist Attractions, Party Plans and anywhere there is foot fall and a electric socket.

Develop you own Greeting Card range.

Produce you own front covers with local views, speciality pictures (your own pictures of Trains, Boats, Planes, Cars, Dogs, Cats etc to suit a specific club,
organisation, or tourist attraction), Have a standard design of front cover where a picture can be introduced using our special video link, for instance (Instant pictures at a dog show or pictures of people against a famous tourist attraction). Make your cards to suit your surroundings and you customers.

Profits.
How much would you pay for a totally personalised Greeting Card £2.50, £3.50, £4.50 the choice is yours and depends on your retail market, but one thing is certain that the cost of making the Greeting Card is no more than 70p, it takes less than 2 minutes to produce the average card and based upon the £2.50 price this would give a clear profit of £54 an hour.

Simple to Use.

You can learn to use the Glycard Greeting Card programme within a few minutes, so employing occasional staff is easy. Pictures can be loaded from disc, scanner, digital camera or instantly with a video camera (with the Video option which involves additional hardware), click on one of the many masks to change the shape of the picture to an Oval, Square, Heart, Boat, Flower etc, Text can be copied from other programmes, saved and loaded, or simply typed in.

Full or Part Time.
